There’s nothing wrong with the standard Italian songs and arias which we find in the 24 or 26 “Italian Songs and Arias” books. They are classics for a reason! But for those of you who are looking for something new or different, but want to conquer similar challenges, or to show off similar strengths, while still singing in Italian, we have developed this guide. We hope that this guide will be helpful to students, voice teachers, and choral directors alike.
*The “grade” and “PML ID” are references to the Texas UIL rules for Solo & Ensemble contests. Many songs are listed multiple times on the PML under different composers, titles, and ID numbers. Please double check this information as it changes yearly.
